d'Arenberg The Derelict Vineyard Grenache 2016

Depth to its very core. It certainly packs much into itself, without being over extracted. It's regional as much as varietal, and indeed is consistent from that which I can recall over the years.

It leads with a Davidson Plum vibe, with what might be considered a sweeter 'halo' of raspberry. On the palate it's dense, with a lighter relief at its periphery - no mean feat to pull off. Fleet of foot tannins, to add to that, delivering length. 90

Tasted on: Thursday 2nd May, a Leaf day
Source: Sample
Price: $29
