Hahndorf Hill 'Zsa Zsa' Zweigelt Rosé 2015
I tried to research the etymology of the grape name, as to my (admittedly schoolboy) German, it would literally mean two (zwei) and money (gelt).
Therefore I wondered if historically it either yielded twice, or - more likely - was used in two different fashions: as a red and as a Rosé (saignee or such). The things you ponder.....
Website reports as 'Sold Out' now - shame, great drinking and a sure thing for the warmer months that seem some way ahead, as I write this in June.
Toffee apple, Turkish delight; soft, rounded berry aromatics. Good bracing acidity, afore softer red berry elements - consistent, tangy cherry and a little spice.
Good length - lovely balance of fruit, textural fullness and savoury nuances. 91
