Harewood Estate Reserve Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2017

A blend of 54% Semillon and 46% Sauvignon Blanc, and only the free-run juice used. Specific portions of each variety fermented separately and left on lees in large 500 litre French oak puncheons for six weeks and then blended back with the cool fermented tank portion. Reserve designation.

The technique evident on the aromatics, lending a woody hint to the wine, lain over the the citrus and herb subtleties each component brings.

The palate weaves aspects of both, wound around a spine of acidity. The Sauvignon Blanc seems the more dominant component, bringing the Gooseberry component along with a creamy aspect to itself.

Good - generous - carry of flavour to the finish. 92
