Gardners Ground Shiraz 2013

Can simply inhaling the aroma of a wine transport you to a place you've never been? Or even seen? It's an interesting thought, as I stick my olfactory organ into this Organic certified Shiraz from Canowindra (pronounced Can-oun-dra): and smell that thick, ancient earth, with sun drenched fruit topping it off.

At odds to that Sun-kissed fruit 'n' earth intro is a wine lighter and fleeter of foot than I was perhaps expecting. Sitting nicely mid-weight on entry. Red fruit makes a secondary resurgence in the back palate, extending the wines profile with a little sweet accent. Enjoyable. 89
